Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! In a decisive move to enhance grassroots security and curb rising criminal activities, the Deputy Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Stanley Uchenna Ezediuto, PhD, has donated essential security equipment to the Alachara Village community security outfit in Mgbowo.

The intervention follows a courtesy visit on December 3, 2025, by the Chairman of Alachara Village, Mr. Nnanna Jude Udeogu, alongside members of his executive council, who appealed for support in addressing mounting security challenges within the community. During the engagement, the delegation drew attention to persistent house burglaries, as well as the growing involvement of youths in hard drugs and other social vices.
In response, Hon. Ezediuto made a firm commitment to support the community with critical security tools aimed at strengthening the operational capacity of the local security outfit. That pledge was fulfilled today with the donation of a comprehensive set of security equipment, including six (6) pairs of walkie-talkies, a solar-powered generator for uninterrupted device charging, two (2) sets of solar-powered CCTV cameras, multifunction self-defence devices, among other items.
Presenting the items, Hon. Ezediuto described the gesture as a modest but strategic contribution toward safeguarding lives and property in Alachara Village. He reaffirmed his commitment to sustained support, noting that further interventions would be considered based on performance assessments and measurable reductions in criminal activity within the community.
As part of efforts to strengthen coordination and intelligence sharing, the Deputy Chairman also formally introduced members of the Alachara community security outfit to the Divisional Police Officer, Awgu Divisional Headquarters, Officer Anagor Chinedu, to foster effective collaboration and synergy with formal security agencies.
The donation ceremony was witnessed by key community stakeholders, including Mrs. Nnanna Jude Udeogu (Chairman), Chief Okibe Donatus (Secretary), Ndubuisi Onuigbo (Public Relations Officer), and Ndubuisi Akachukwu (Member).
Hon. Ezediuto further disclosed that similar security interventions would be extended to other villages within Mgbowo, in order to promote coordinated community policing and collective security efforts across the area.
He concluded by reiterating his resolve to work with community leaders, security agencies, and residents to build a safer and more secure Alachara Village.
