Currently serving as Chairman of Nkanu East Local Government Area and Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Enugu State Chapter, Edeh has distinguished himself as both a seasoned businessman and an astute administrator. His story is one of grace, grit, and steady growth.

From humble beginnings, he has risen through determination and an unwavering commitment to excellence and service. Before venturing into politics, Edeh had already established himself in the business world. As the founder of Sydok Wines, he built a thriving enterprise grounded in diligence, integrity, and strategic thinking. Today, he is widely recognized as a major figure in the wine business within Enugu and beyond, serving as an inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs.

Born on April 4, 1978, in Enugu, and hailing from Obeagu, Ugbawka in Nkanu East, Edeh’s upbringing was shaped by discipline and strong family values. He began his education at Community Primary School, Obeagu Ugbawka, and proceeded to Community Secondary School, Ugbawka. He later earned a degree in Business Administration from Enugu State University of Science and Technology. His formative years, including his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at Bargodu Primary School in Kebbi State, helped sharpen his leadership skills and broaden his perspective.

Enterprise Before Politics

Edeh’s entrepreneurial journey began in 2001 with the establishment of Sydok Enterprises, which was later incorporated as Sydok International Limited in 2009. Through resilience and foresight, he built a solid business foundation that would later influence his governance style practical, results-oriented, and people-centered.

Answering the Call to Serve

His political journey took shape in 2015 when he co-founded Workable Partners for Gburugburu, a support group for Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. His loyalty and effectiveness earned him appointment as Transition Chairman of Nkanu East between 2019 and 2020, where he demonstrated commendable administrative capacity.

In 2022, he was elected Executive Chairman of the council and re-elected in 2024, further consolidating his leadership. Beyond the local level, he rose to become ALGON Chairman in Enugu State and later gained national recognition as Deputy National Publicity Secretary of ALGON.

Governance with Impact

Edeh’s leadership approach is rooted in building and delivering tangible results. His administration has implemented people-focused policies and executed visible infrastructure projects. His social intervention programmes include welfare packages for the elderly, housing support for widows, and monthly stipends for vulnerable citizens demonstrating a deep commitment to grassroots development.

On infrastructure, he has exceeded expectations for local government performance, delivering key projects such as the Ojorowo Bridge, Iyiakpu Bridge, and a 13-kilometre road in Ugbawka, among others.

His administration has also made notable strides in improving security, particularly in addressing criminal activities in Akpawfu, restoring peace and normalcy to affected communities. Additionally, he has overseen the revival of critical infrastructure, including electricity along the Agbani–Ugbawka axis—projects that serve as vital lifelines for economic and social development.
