The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the ongoing Enugu North Senatorial By-Election, Chief Ikeje Asogwa, on Saturday cast his vote and commended the peaceful conduct of the election across the senatorial district.

Speaking with journalists shortly after exercising his franchise at his polling unit, Central Primary School, Iheaka, in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area, Asogwa lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and voters for ensuring a smooth and orderly electoral process.

The APC flagbearer, who arrived at the polling unit alongside supporters, friends, and well-wishers, expressed satisfaction with the level of voter turnout and the peaceful atmosphere witnessed during the exercise.

He described the election as a demonstration of the people’s commitment to democracy and praised residents of Enugu North Senatorial Zone for their enthusiasm and participation in the democratic process.

Asogwa further noted that the APC has a track record of impactful governance and development across Enugu State, particularly within the Enugu North Senatorial District, expressing optimism that voters would reward the party with their mandate.

The APC candidate also urged the electorate to remain peaceful, vigilant, and law-abiding throughout the electoral process, stressing the importance of maintaining peace before, during, and after the announcement of results.

Expressing confidence in the outcome of the election, Asogwa stated that he was optimistic of emerging victorious, adding that he believed the final results would reflect the wishes and aspirations of the people.

The Enugu North Senatorial By-Election is being closely monitored by stakeholders, with voters across the district turning out to elect a representative for the senatorial seat.
