The Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Council, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo has flagged off the 2024 Measles Vaccination Campaign in Awgu Local Government Area, reaffirming his commitment to providing quality healthcare services to the community.

The ceremony, held at the Maternal and Child Health center in Awgu Town, was attended by healthcare officials, community leaders, and parents. Hon. Okolo, represented by Hon. Ndubuisi Nwaudeigwe, former Supervisor for Health in Awgu Local Government Area, emphasized the importance of immunization in safeguarding the health and well-being of children.
“Regular vaccinations are crucial in preventing diseases and protecting the future of our children,” Hon. Okolo stressed. “I urge parents, especially mothers, to ensure their children receive all recommended vaccinations.”
The campaign targets children aged 9-59 months, aligning with the measles vaccination campaign’s objectives. Additionally, gift items were presented to mothers and children, courtesy of Mrs. Vivian Okolo, the First Lady of Awgu Local Government Area.
