Hon. Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu, Member Representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency, marked a significant milestone – one year in office – with a grand celebration at his Nza Street Enugu residence on November 16, 2024. The event was attended by a full house of aides, friends, government officials, and dignitaries.

The celebration was a demonstration of Hon. Onwuegbu’s commitment to his constituents and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). In his remarks, Hon. Onwuegbu expressed gratitude to his constituency for their support and prayers, promising to do more for their overall interest.
Hon. Emmanuel Chukwujekwu Nebo, Chairman of the Central Working Committee, praised Hon. Onwuegbu’s commitment to his constituents, emphasizing the importance of thanking God for the reclamation of the mandate of Ndi Greater Awgu.
Hon. Obi Kama, DG of Omeiheukwu Campaign Organisation and SPA to the MHR, appreciated the people’s support, resilience, and doggedness, while urging unity among them.
Hon. Onwuegbu announced a food palliative for his constituency in December. He has been actively engaged with his constituents, attending events such as the Ikeji Festival in Awgu Egbeleli and sponsoring 130 students in National Teachers Institute (NTI), NCE and PGDE scholarship program. He also congratulated the newly elected Ìgwè of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom, Chief Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna Jnr, on his emergence.
Prominent figures at the event included Barr. Mrs Stella Onwuegbu, wife of the MHR; Hon. Tony Nwankwo and Hon. Engr Magnus Edeh, state House Members; Dame Barr. Ugochi Madueke, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism; Hon. Greg Anyaegbudike, Chairman Oji River LGA; Hon. Dr. Stanley Ezediuto, Deputy Chairman Awgu LGA; Hon. Solomon Udeh, ENSIEC Commissioner; Hon. Engr Emmanuel Okoro; Chief Francis Nwobi; and Hon. Johnny Obidinma.
Hon. Onwuegbu reassured his constituents of his continued commitment to their welfare and development, promising to put Greater Awgu first in his representations. He also informed his members of the need to reach out to him for recommendations where needed.
The celebration was a resounding success, with constituents and dignitaries alike praising Hon. Onwuegbu’s dedication to his constituency.
