According to a keynote address delivered by Rt. Hon. Chiedozie Alex Ogbonnia, PhD (Ozowaluona Ndigbo), at the 30th anniversary celebration of the Association of Enugu State Indigenes Resident in the Netherlands, Governor Mbah’s administration has introduced a disruptive governance model that is yielding remarkable results.

“Governor Mbah has recalibrated governance in diverse ways, leveraging his business acumen, high achievement motivation, intellectual prowess, and prudent resource management into the governance of Enugu State,” Ogbonnia said.
The address highlighted some of the notable achievements of the Mbah administration, including:
- The banning of the obnoxious Monday Sit-at-Home order
- The launch of the Distress Response Squad (DRS) to combat crime
- The construction of 260 Smart Green Schools across the state
- The introduction of an experiential model of learning to replace the outdated colonial memorization model
- The construction of 260 Type II Primary Health Centers and the completion of the Enugu International Hospital
- The upgrading of the School of Nursing, Parklane, Enugu, and the School of Nursing, Awgu, to colleges of nursing
- The construction of over 200 urban and 20 gateway roads, covering all three senatorial zones
- The development of modern transport terminals and the launch of the Enugu Air airline
- The renovation of relaxation parks, such as Ngwo Park, Nnaji Park, and Ejindu Park
Ogbonnia praised Governor Mbah’s commitment to transforming Enugu State into a hub of economic growth, innovation, and prosperity.

“Governor Mbah has pledged to migrate the Enugu State economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion within four to eight years through private sector investment,” Ogbonnia said. “He has also expressed the vision to make Enugu State the premier destination for investment, business, tourism, and living, as well as achieve zero percent poverty headcount index, among others.”

The address concluded with a call to action, urging Enugu State indigenes and investors to support the Mbah administration’s efforts to develop the state.

“We can only continue to pray and support the government,” Ogbonnia said. “However, and even more important, I enjoin you to come home and invest or bring investors home. This is a business-friendly administration that is ready to de-risk investments to make the state boom economically.”
The event was attended by dignitaries, including His Majesty, Igwe Samuel Asadu, Igwe Ogadagidi, the traditional ruler of Edem Ani, and the Chairman, Council of Traditional Rulers of Enugu State and the Chairman, Council of Traditional Rulers, South East of Nigeria.
The Association of Enugu State Indigenes Resident in the Netherlands marked its 30th anniversary with the launch of the Maru Nwanne Civic Centre, a project aimed at promoting community development and social welfare in Enugu State.
