The Enugu SME Center has reaffirmed its commitment to empowering youths in tech skills, hosting the Three Million Tech Talent (3MTT) Enugu Impact Conference. This conference is part of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy’s initiative, in partnership with IHS Towers of Strength and NITDA, to train 3 million tech talents across Nigeria.

Enugu State has been allocated 50,000 slots under the 3MTT program, which aligns with Governor Peter Mbah’s mandate to train 30,000 youths annually in digital and tech skills. This initiative aims to position Enugu as a leading talent hub in Nigeria and create widespread access to tech education through the Digital Skill Enhancement Zones (DEZs) Initiative.

The Enugu SME Agency has played a crucial role in supporting participants like Ichaka Obinna, Ijeoma Alenkhe, and Lotanna Nnamani with resources and financial support to advance their tech careers. This is just the beginning, as the state government remains committed to bridging the digital skills gap and unlocking opportunities for young people across the state.

Other initiatives by the Enugu SME Center to empower youths in tech include:

  • The Enugu Tech Program: A program launched by the Enugu SME Agency in partnership with Utiva to teach key technological skills in product design (UI/UX) and programming.
  • The Enugu/FGN-ALAT Digital Skillnovation Programme: A collaborative effort between the Federal Government, Wema Bank, and the Enugu State Government to elevate digital, business management, and employability skills of 50,000 youths and MSMEs in Enugu State.
  • The Learnable Training Program: An initiative launched by the Enugu SME Center in partnership with Genesys, Learnable, and Capitis to equip young minds with cutting-edge digital skills.
