In a strategic move to boost economic development and agricultural productivity in Awgu, the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, alongside his team, paid a working visit to the Awgu Local Government Farm in Amoli and Mmaku.

The visit aimed to assess the current state of the farm and outline actionable plans for its revitalization, expansion, and optimal utilization to drive economic empowerment for the people of Awgu.

Hon. Okolo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to leveraging agriculture as a key driver of economic growth, job creation, and food security. He emphasized that the revitalization of the farm will align with the broader vision of His Excellency, Governor Peter Mbah, in making Enugu State a hub for commercial agriculture and agro-industrialization.

The Chairman noted that the farm, once fully restored, would provide employment opportunities, support local farmers, and contribute to the agricultural value chain. Plans are underway to introduce modern farming techniques, mechanized agriculture, and agro-processing facilities that will maximize the farm’s potential.

Hon. Okolo further assured Ndi Awgu that his administration remains committed to policies and initiatives that will uplift the economic standing of the people and create sustainable livelihoods through agriculture, ultimately fighting insecurity through food security.

This visit marks the beginning of a new phase in Awgu’s agricultural transformation, as the local government intensifies efforts to harness the sector’s vast potential for collective prosperity.
