Hon. Okolo, while addressing the Corps members, declared, “Enugu remains one of the safest and most accommodating states in Nigeria,” reinforcing his administration’s dedication to creating a secure and hospitable environment. He further expressed his hope that the Corps members would grow to love Enugu’s peace, hospitality, and opportunities so much that many might choose to settle in the state after their service, a testament to his vision of Awgu as a hub for young talent.

Under his leadership, the Awgu Local Government Area has been instrumental in supporting the camp’s infrastructure. Notably, through local government collaboration, the camp’s generator was repaired, and perimeter fencing was reconstructed, ensuring a conducive environment for the Corps members. These initiatives demonstrate Hon. Okolo’s commitment to providing a supportive environment for the Corps members.

The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including Prof. Sam Ugwu, representing Governor Peter Mbah, and NYSC State Coordinator Mrs. Awolola. The event was marked by optimism and unity, reflecting the collective enthusiasm for the Corps members’ upcoming service.

Hon. Okolo’s contributions to the camp’s development complemented the state’s efforts, such as the installation of a solar-powered borehole to address water challenges. This initiative reflects his alignment with Governor Peter Mbah’s developmental agenda, aimed at enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.

By providing a secure and supportive environment, Hon. Okolo’s administration is setting the stage for a productive and fulfilling experience for the NYSC Corps members. As they embark on their service, the Corps members can focus on contributing to the development of Awgu and Enugu State, knowing that they are valued and supported.
