
In a poignant display of solidarity and respect, Hon. Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu, Member of the House of Representatives for Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency of Enugu State, attended the burial ceremony of his esteemed friend and political ally, Late Chief Dr. Sunday Amos Ogwudire (Oshimiri II). The solemn occasion took place at the Primary School Field premises in Ihuokpara, Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, on April 24, 2025.

As a mark of final respect, Hon. Onwuegbu, accompanied by his lovely wife, Barr. Mrs. Stella Onwuegbu, friends, and aides, visited the family house of the deceased to pay tribute to his beloved wives and children. This gesture underscored the deep bond of friendship and mutual respect that existed between the two leaders.




In his heartfelt condolence message to the Ogwudire family, Hon. Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu expressed his profound sorrow over the loss of his good friend and ally, describing it as a great loss not only to him but also to the family and the entire Ihukpara community. He prayed for the repose of Late Chief Ogwudire’s soul, wishing that he would be remembered as a pillar of strength and a shining example of selfless service to humanity.



The burial ceremony was attended by a galaxy of dignitaries, including highly placed government functionaries, businessmen, traditional leaders, and other prominent individuals. Hon. Onwuegbu was accompanied by a team of aides, comprising Hon. Boniface Uchendu, SLA on Special Duties; Hon. Sunday Onwuegbu; Chief I.G Achu, Hon. Michael Udeh; Hon. Michael Okaibe; Hon. Late Chief Dr. Sunday Amos Ogwudire, who passed away at the age of 68, leaves behind a legacy of service and dedication to his community. His demise has sent shockwaves throughout the region, with many paying tribute to his remarkable life and achievements.
