The Enugu East Local Government, under the dynamic leadership of Engr. Pst. Beloved-Dan Obi Anike, has taken a significant step towards empowering the youth in the area. Recently, 20 youths from the local government were enrolled in an aviation training program at a reputable academy Universal School of Aviation in Lagos State, Nigeria.

The selected participants departed Enugu early this week and have safely arrived at their training center. The training, which has commenced, focuses on Aviation Management. This initiative is part of the council’s broader effort to equip youths with skills that can enhance their employability and contribute to the development of the local government area.
The council received over 200 applications for the program and has screened over 100 applicants. These applicants will be enrolled in subsequent batches, with training programs covering various aspects of the aviation industry, including:
- Airline Ticketing/Reservation
- Cabin Crew/Flight Attendant
- Customer Service Management
- Flight Dispatch
- Helicopter Landing Officer
- Hotel Management
- Tourism and Hospitality Travel Agency Management
- Visa Application/Processing.
The Engr. Pst. Beloved-Dan Obi Anike-led administration is committed to achieving sustainable development in Enugu East LGA, with a strong focus on human capital development, particularly for youths and women. This initiative underscores the council’s dedication to empowering the youth and enhancing their skills.
Furthermore, the council is set to launch the “One Youth-1 Skill Program,” which aims to train over 500 youths in 22 different skill sets. This ambitious program underscores the council’s commitment to youth empowerment and development.
