In Bori, Khana Local Government Area, officials of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) were seen awaiting the arrival of sensitive materials for onward distribution to polling units.
The exercise follows Friday’s distribution of election materials at the RSIEC headquarters in Port Harcourt, which was carried out under tight security and closely monitored by party agents. Ad-hoc staff and security operatives have already been deployed to various local government areas to facilitate the process.

Although some sensitive materials were distributed yesterday, activities continued this morning at the commission’s headquarters as distribution was still underway.
The polls are being conducted under the supervision of RSIEC Sole Administrator, Ibas, in the absence of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, who remains suspended.

A heavy security presence was also reported on Friday within and around the commission’s premises, with access restricted to only accredited personnel.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Police Command had earlier announced a restriction of movement across the state between 12 a.m. and 6 p.m. to ensure a smooth and secure electoral process.
