In a statement issued after his recent visit to the hospital, Hon. Imere noted with delight that one side of the drainage system stretching down to Achi Boys had been fully constructed. He described the project as life-saving, recalling that the spot had previously claimed many lives due to its poor state.

He further reflected on how, years earlier, under the leadership of Oga Ephraim Oluedo, he and other concerned members of the community had volunteered to carry out makeshift work at the site in order to prevent the road from collapsing. According to him, the newly completed drainage project has now provided a lasting and permanent solution.

While commending Hon. Onwuegbu, who represents Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Imere expressed optimism that more developmental projects would be delivered to Achi in particular and Oji River in general. He also prayed for God’s protection, wisdom, and guidance upon the lawmaker to enable him to sustain quality representation.

He stressed that just as he had openly criticized the legislator in the past whenever he felt there were shortcomings, it was equally necessary to commend him when he delivered well on projects that touched the lives of the people.

“With the quality of drainage constructed, I am convinced that those spots will never fail again,” Imere said. He further added that, in due time, he would present a detailed report on the ongoing renovation works at Achi Joint Hospital once more progress had been made.

Concluding his remarks with an Igbo proverb, “Eme mma, anyị akuo aka; eme njọ, anyị akpọtụ irù” (When good is done, we clap; when wrong is done, we speak up), Hon. Imere prayed for God’s blessings upon Hon. Onwuegbu and described his intervention as a remarkable contribution to community development.
