Hon. Mbah made this known on Tuesday during the grand finale of the statewide sensitization programme on the continuous voter registration exercise organised by the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), an event that was held at Nkanu East Local Government Secretariat, Amagunze.
He stated that the opportunity presented by the ongoing CVR is a great avenue for all eligible voters from the LGA to register and get their PVCs, which remain the sine qua non for giving Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah the needed support during the forthcoming 2027 general elections.

According to him, “We cannot sit at home and expect our voices to be heard in the ballot. The only way to translate our goodwill into action is through the collection of PVCs. This exercise is not just about politics; it is about shaping the future of our communities and ensuring we have a stronger say in the affairs of our dear state.”

“Governor Mbah has shown in clear terms that he is committed to transforming Enugu State. The best way to show appreciation is not just by clapping for him but by preparing ourselves to vote massively for him in 2027. That begins with this registration, and I am charging every youth, woman, and elder in Nkanu East to seize this chance.”
In his remarks, the Nkanu East Council Chairman, who also doubles as the Chairman of the Enugu State chapter of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Hon. Sydney Okechukwu Edeh, said the essence of the sensitization was to enlighten the people of Enugu State on the importance of participating actively in the ongoing process in order to increase voting strength.
“We are not here for fanfare but for action. Our people must understand that every PVC collected is a vote secured. We cannot afford to be complacent. We are mobilising from the wards, villages, and markets so that by 2027, Nkanu East will stand tall as the council with the highest voter turnout.”
Stakeholders and party leaders at the event expressed confidence that Governor Mbah’s developmental strides across the state had already won the trust of the people. They maintained that the ongoing projects in health, education, infrastructure, and agriculture were enough evidence that the governor deserved another mandate in 2027.
Also speaking, the Enugu State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr. Martin Chukwunwike, who was represented by his deputy, Barr Steve Oruruo, said the sensitisation was imperative to ensure that no eligible vote is lost in 2027 so as to sustain the good work the governor is doing in the state.
He also stated the importance of active participation during this ongoing CVR process, adding that it will aid both Governor Mbah’s re-election as well as the election of other candidates in the party.
“We have seen the quality of governance in Enugu State that needs to be shielded by the masses. This particular governor has bridged the gap between government and the governed. The masses now have faith in what their governor is doing. We have seen lots of developmental strides to the extent that beyond party affiliation, the All Progressives Congress led presidency has recognised the fact that Enugu is delivering.”
“As of today, the presidency has given the governor of Enugu two awards. Enugu was again recently awarded ₦100 million as the cleanest state in the federation.”
“Now the only way the masses can respond is to come out in their numbers to show absolute support for the government, and that can only come by the masses ensuring that they register to vote. When you are talking about voting strength and you have not gotten your PVC, you are literally wasting your time.”
The event also witnessed the distribution of empowerment items to each Woman Leader of the PDP in the 14 wards of the LGA by the Member representing Nkanu East/Nkanu West Federal Constituency, Hon. Nnoli Nnaji.
