Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, in line with his administration’s commitment to human capital development, has made basic education free for pupils and students up to Junior Secondary School three (JS1–JS3). This policy is designed to remove financial barriers, ensure greater access to learning, and promote inclusive education across the state.
In addition, the introduction of the Smart Green School initiative has already begun to transform the learning environment in Enugu. The model schools, equipped with modern facilities and digital learning tools, are setting new standards for education delivery and placing Enugu at the forefront of innovative learning in Nigeria.
Education stakeholders have commended the government’s bold steps and called on the public to embrace the initiative with a collective spirit of support and collaboration. They maintain that sustained participation in these reforms will help secure a brighter and more competitive future for children across the state.
I want to appreciate the governor on this milestone but those who participated and passed the recruitment exercise for the smart green school are yet to hear from the state government since then. Does it mean it was all politics as usual? I said this because I participated.
