The National Association of University Students (NAUS), Enugu East Chapter, has officially announced the formation of its Convention Committee as preparations begin for the association’s forthcoming convention in Enugu State.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The announcement comes shortly after the zone concluded its mourning period for Comrade Igboeli Kc, who tragically lost his life in a road accident while carrying out his official duties. NAUS described his death as a painful loss to the student community, offering prayers for the peaceful repose of his soul.
Speaking on the development, the NAUS Vice President for the South-East, Comrade Ndimaeme Victory Uchenna, said the association is determined to “kick-start the activities of NAUS in the state,” noting that the zone had lagged behind in recent months.

According to him, the newly constituted committee was carefully selected for its “expertise, leadership qualities, and commitment to serving the student body.”
The Convention Committee will oversee all proceedings of the upcoming convention, ensuring that the event is productive, engaging, and successful. It will also be responsible for conducting a transparent and credible election for the Campus Monitoring Committee of Enugu State, a key structure of NAUS in the region.
Comrade Ndimaeme expressed confidence that the committee’s collective efforts will provide a valuable platform for dialogue, learning, and collaboration, adding that the convention will mark “a new chapter in student leadership within the South-East.”
He urged members of the association and the wider student community to give their full support to the committee as it prepares for what is expected to be a landmark gathering.
The names of the committee members, he said, will be unveiled to the public ahead of the convention.
