In a statement issued by the agency, residents were notified that movement of people and vehicles will be restricted during the exercise, except for those on essential duties who must present valid identification or an ESWAMA-issued pass. The authority warned that violators would be arrested and prosecuted at the Environmental Mobile Court.

The directive also mandates the suspension of early morning sporting activities, loading and offloading of passengers at motor parks, as well as other commercial operations across the state for the duration of the exercise.

Beyond the monthly sanitation, ESWAMA emphasized that its enforcement operations against environmental offences remain ongoing. These include:

Illegal dumping of refuse or disposal outside the approved daily hours of 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Scavenging in and around refuse dumps.

Throwing refuse from moving vehicles or tricycles.

Residents were further urged to pay their sanitation rates to authorized e-ticketing agents in their localities to avoid penalties.

For enquiries, the public is encouraged to contact ESWAMA on 0813 553 4440.

The statement, signed by Joshua Ozioko, Head of Public Relations, for Management, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to its vision of “A Cleaner Tomorrow Today.”
