In a bold step toward building a digitally skilled workforce, the Enugu State Government has announced the commencement of the Enugu VSAT Training Program 2025, a strategic initiative designed to empower young people with hands-on expertise in satellite communications and broadband (VSAT) technology.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The program is being implemented in partnership with the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT) and the Enugu SME Center/Office of Digital Economy, under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, Governor of Enugu State.
According to the organizers, the initiative aligns with Dr. Mbah’s administration’s commitment to fostering a digitally empowered and future-ready economy in Enugu State through capacity development, innovation, and youth empowerment.
Over the course of seven intensive days, participants will undergo practical training in VSAT installation, configuration, and maintenance, as well as field-based exercises in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and broadband connectivity deployment. The curriculum is designed to give trainees practical experience in applying satellite technologies to real-world telecommunications systems.
Upon completion, successful participants will receive a nationally recognized certificate endorsed by NIGCOMSAT, opening pathways to careers in digital infrastructure, telecommunications, and tech entrepreneurship.
The training is open to young people aged 18 to 35 who are passionate about technology, connectivity, and innovation within Nigeria’s rapidly expanding digital economy.
Speaking on the initiative, officials from the Enugu SME Center described the program as a “transformative opportunity to skill up Enugu’s youth, preparing them to take advantage of emerging opportunities in satellite broadband and the wider digital economy.”
