Enugu State Unveils Fashion Incubation Training to Boost Youth Entrepreneurship

The Enugu State Government has launched a new initiative aimed at grooming the next generation of fashion entrepreneurs and strengthening the state’s creative economy.

Through the leadership of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the Enugu Fashion Incubation Training (EFIT) is set to empower young designers, tailors, and garment producers with globally competitive skills. The programme is hosted at the Enugu Fashion & Garment Hub and implemented by the Enugu SME Center/Office of Digital Economy in partnership with Coal City Couture.

EFIT aligns with the administration’s mission to position Enugu as Nigeria’s leading hub for skills development, industrial innovation, and youth empowerment.

A Structured and Hands-On Programme

The 12-week intensive training is designed to provide participants with practical knowledge in fashion design, pattern drafting, fabric cutting, sewing, production management, and the business side of the fashion industry. Industry professionals from Coal City Couture and other experts will serve as trainers.

Trainees will also gain exposure to real-time production processes within the modern garment facility.

The programme fee is ₦50,000 with flexible payment plans and access to SME loan support.

According to the Special Adviser on Digital Economy and MSMEs and Director General of the Enugu SME Center, Arinze Chilo-Offiah, the initiative is a strategic tool for job creation, enterprise growth, and economic inclusion for young people in Enugu.
