Rep. Nnamchi Mourns Senator Okey Ezea, Describes Him as a Pillar of Conscience

Hon. Prof. Paul S. Nnamchi, the Member Representing Enugu East/Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Senator Okey Ezea, who passed away on 18 November 2025.

In a condolence message issued on behalf of his constituents, Nnamchi described the late senator as a courageous leader, a strategic thinker, and a steadfast believer in the transformative power of public service.

Senator Ezea, who represented Enugu North Senatorial District, was praised for his calm but influential role in shaping political discourse within Enugu State. Nnamchi stated that the late lawmaker played a stabilizing and critical role before and after the 2023 general elections, offering guidance during major political strategy sessions.

According to him, Senator Ezea’s contributions were consistently thoughtful and impactful. His clarity of mind, conviction, and integrity earned him wide respect across political lines. His counsel helped navigate difficult political moments, and his disciplined approach strengthened the collective resolve of colleagues.

Nnamchi noted that Ezea’s passing represents a significant loss not only to his family and associates but also to the broader political and moral landscape of the state. He expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for strength and comfort as they confront the painful reality of his death.

He added that the late senator leaves behind a legacy defined by courage, discipline, humility, and an unwavering commitment to public good—a legacy that will continue to inspire leaders and citizens alike.

Senator Okey Ezea was regarded as one of Enugu State’s most principled political figures, known for his deep sense of responsibility and his dedication to transparent and purposeful leadership.
