Reports had claimed that some indigenes of Umuchigbo Nike Community were charged with robbing and setting ablaze the residence of the Executive Chairman during incidents in the community on October 29 and 30, 2025.

The Office has categorically denied these claims. According to the statement, “The Executive Chairman was neither robbed nor was his house set ablaze, either in Umuchigbo or elsewhere. At no point did he file any complaint regarding such incidents, nor did he authorize any charges, directly or indirectly.”

The statement emphasized that certain aspects of the reported charges, particularly Counts V, VII, and VIII, “are entirely inconsistent with his position,” and the Chairman therefore completely dissociates himself from them.

The Office stressed the importance of accurate reporting, especially at a time when the Umuchigbo community is mourning the tragic deaths of two of its members. It warned that misinformation or false attribution could exacerbate tensions and distract from the pursuit of justice.

The Executive Chairman reaffirmed his commitment to:

  1. Collaborating with government and security agencies, alongside community leaders, to restore peace and stability in Umuchigbo.
  2. Ensuring that those responsible for the recent killings are thoroughly investigated, prosecuted, and brought to justice.
  3. Protecting the integrity of his office by pursuing legal action against any false allegations or activities that could infringe upon his personal or official rights.

The statement concluded by urging the public, media, and all stakeholders to disregard any claims linking the Chairman to allegations he did not make, reiterating his unwavering focus on justice, peace, healing, and community wellbeing.
