
The Enugu State Government has announced plans to host a comprehensive Stakeholders’ Town Hall Meeting as part of its ongoing Digital Land Transformation Programme, a flagship reform initiative championed by Governor Peter Mbah aimed at modernising land administration across the state.

The government stated that the programme aligns with its commitment to transparency, citizen engagement, and the development of a technologically driven land administration framework that protects the rights and investments of individuals, communities, and institutions.
Wide Range of Stakeholders Expected
The Town Hall is open to all key stakeholders, including political leaders, traditional rulers, families and community landowners, estate developers, surveyors, layout coordinators, realtors, property lawyers, professional bodies, business operators, religious organisations, financial institutions, academic institutions, civil society groups, development partners, the media, and all concerned citizens.

Purpose of the Engagement
The government highlighted several reasons why members of the public should attend, including the opportunity to:

3. Understand compliance requirements, timelines, and deadlines.
4. Verify government-approved layouts and avoid land-related fraud.
5. Observe live demonstrations of the new digital land system.
6. Secure land records for future generations.
On-the-Spot Services for Landowners
As an added benefit, landowners will be able to process documentation, verification, and digital conversion of their land records during the Town Hall. Multiple service points will be available at the venue to facilitate this process.
Participants intending to use this service are advised to come with copies of their land documents and arrive at least one hour before the event commences.
The Enugu State Government urged all stakeholders not to miss what it described as a crucial opportunity to engage directly with the state’s land reform process, reaffirming its development mantra that Tomorrow Is Here.
