Designed to unlock opportunities in the global creative economy, EMAT has become a flagship initiative of the Enugu State Government aimed at equipping young people with globally competitive digital skills. Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, in a statement, underscored the strategic importance of the programme to the state’s economic future.
“The future of our economy lies in the hands of digitally skilled young people. EMAT is proof that Enugu’s youth are not just ready for that future—they’re already creating it,” Governor Mbah stated.
Beyond celebrating the successes of Batch 1, the graduation ceremony also signals the opening of applications for the second cohort. The next batch will offer up to 80% subsidized, world-class training in both 2D and 3D animation—an opportunity officials say will further expand the pipeline of tech talent emerging from the state.
Speaking on the programme’s impact, Hon. Arinze Chilo-Offiah, Special Adviser on Digital Economy and MSMEs and Director-General of the Enugu SME Center, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to empowering young people through practical, employable digital skills.
The event is open to animation enthusiasts, aspiring creatives, and industry stakeholders eager to witness the transformation unfolding within Enugu’s technology and innovation ecosystem.
