Leaders and stakeholders of Mgbowo Ward in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State on Saturday, January 17, 2026, intensified efforts to expand the membership base of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with the official flag-off of the party’s ongoing e-registration exercise.

The ward-level exercise, held at Central School, Mgbowo, opened with prayers led by Dr. (Mrs.) Ego Aja, Member 3 of the Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB), and attracted a large turnout of community elders, women groups, youths, and party faithful.

The registration was led by the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, and his Deputy, Dr. Stanley Uchenna Ezediuto. Several party leaders and stakeholders were formally registered during the exercise.

Addressing the gathering, the Mgbowo Ward Leader and Deputy Chairman of Awgu LGA, Dr. Stanley Uchenna Ezediuto, described the e-registration as a strategic grassroots mobilisation initiative aimed at strengthening the APC and consolidating support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, and other elected party officials.

He noted that governance outcomes under the APC-led administration were already yielding visible benefits at the local government level, urging residents to embrace the party and actively participate in the registration process as a pathway to attracting more dividends of democracy from the centre.

Also speaking, a prominent party stakeholder and son of the soil, Chief Amobi Edeh (Agubata), attributed the growing acceptance of the APC in Enugu State to what he described as the tangible dividends of democracy from the centre and the developmental strides of Governor Peter Mbah.

He called on the people of Mgbowo to remain steadfast in their support for the APC and its leadership at both state and national levels.
Chief Edeh added that mass participation in the e-registration exercise would translate into stronger electoral performance in future polls, commending the leadership of President Tinubu and Governor Mbah.

In his remarks, Hon. Uchenna Okolo expressed satisfaction with the level of participation, describing Mgbowo as a politically strategic and God-blessed ward with one of the highest voting capacities in Awgu Local Government Area.

He noted that the ward has consistently aligned with the administration of Governor Mbah and urged residents to consolidate their support towards the Governor’s second-term bid.

Highlighting the dividends of democracy recorded under the current state administration, Hon. Okolo emphasized that increased APC membership would further enhance development at the grassroots.

Former Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial Zone, Distinguished Senator Ben-Collins Ndu, commended Mgbowo Ward for her unwavering support during his tenure in the Senate.

He recalled his working relationship with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a former colleague in the National Assembly, noting that the President harbours positive intentions for Enugu State.

He urged residents to deepen their commitment to the APC by actively participating in the ongoing e-registration exercise.

Delivering the vote of thanks, Comr. Akpa Francis JP appreciated the efforts of stakeholders and party faithful, applauding the impressive turnout and encouraging sustained support for the APC.
