Nigeria Police Recruitment: PSC Sets Physical Screening for 50,000 Constables — Here’s What You Need to Know

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has officially announced the commencement of physical and credential screenings for the recruitment of 50,000 constables into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). The screenings are scheduled to hold nationwide from 9th March to 18th April 2026, marking a crucial phase in what promises to be one of the largest recruitment exercises in recent years.

The announcement comes following the successful completion of the online registration exercise, which attracted millions of applicants across the country. Candidates who registered are urged to log in to the official recruitment portal at https://npfapplication.psc.gov.ng to confirm their status and print their mandatory documents, which are essential for participation in the screenings.

Mandatory Documents for Screening

Applicants are required to present the following at their designated screening venues, strictly in accordance with the date and time indicated on their Invitation Slip:

1. Invitation Slip (with assigned table number)

2. Credential Screening Form

3. Original NIN printout or NIMC-issued card

4. O’ Level Certificate (GCE/SSCE)

5. Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age

6. LGA/State of Origin Certificate

7. Trade Test/Certificate (for specialist roles only)

8. Duly completed and signed Guarantors Form, including photocopies and passport photos of referees

9. Original and duplicate copies of credentials, neatly packaged in two separate white flat files with recent passport photographs attached

Candidates are also instructed to attend the screening in uniform attire: white canvas shoes, white T-shirts, white shorts, and white stockings, as outlined in their invitation slips.

PSC Assures Transparency, Warns Against Scammers

DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (rtd), mni, Chairman of the PSC, reassured the public that the recruitment process is completely free, transparent, and merit-based. He warned against scammers and impostors seeking to exploit unsuspecting applicants, emphasizing that such individuals will face arrest and prosecution under the law.

Reiterating the directives from Abuja, PSC Spokesman Torty Njoku Kalu urged all candidates to adhere strictly to the guidelines to ensure a smooth and efficient screening process.

With the exercise set to mobilize thousands of aspirants nationwide, the PSC has emphasized that discipline, punctuality, and compliance with the prescribed requirements will be key to successful participation.
