
The Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, has declared the month of March a season of unity, expanded opportunities and accelerated grassroots development for the people of Awgu.
In a New Month message to residents, conveyed through his Special Adviser on General Media and Publicity, Hon. Tochukwu Chukwu, the chairman called on Ndi Awgu to embrace peace, diligence, mutual respect and community spirit as essential pillars for sustainable transformation at the grassroots.
Okolo expressed gratitude to God and the people of Awgu for their continued support, noting that the progress recorded by his administration in recent months reflects a shared commitment to development and a collective sense of purpose.
He also commended the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for what he described as visionary leadership and a bold infrastructural drive that has repositioned the state as a hub for innovation, economic growth and modern development.
According to the chairman, the governor’s development agenda has created an enabling environment for local governments to function more effectively and deliver impactful projects to their communities.
He stated that the administration in Awgu is aligning with the state’s broader vision through inclusive, people-centred governance, with a focus on practical initiatives that directly improve the lives of residents.
Looking ahead, Okolo reaffirmed his commitment to consolidating ongoing projects while initiating new ones in critical sectors such as water supply, road infrastructure, security, education, healthcare and social welfare.
He highlighted key programmes, including the Awgu Water for All Initiative, strategic road projects linking Smart Green Schools, and enhanced security infrastructure, assuring residents that these efforts will be sustained and expanded to ensure equitable development across the local government area.
The chairman concluded by wishing Ndi Awgu a peaceful and productive month of March, expressing optimism that the weeks ahead will bring stronger unity, steady progress and shared prosperity.
He described March as a period of renewed hope and collective advancement for the people of Awgu.
