
Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command’s Crack Tactical Squad, working in collaboration with a detachment of Nigerian Army soldiers stationed at Awgu, have arrested two suspected armed robbers and recovered a tricycle reportedly snatched earlier this month.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!According to a report by SP Daniel Ndukwe, mnipr, mnisma, Police Public Relations Officer of Enugu State Command, the suspects were apprehended following a report received on 9th March 2026 at about 4:00 p.m. The report stated that a two-man gang attacked a male tricycle rider along New Garriki, Enugu, using an offensive weapon to dispossess him of the vehicle.
Acting promptly, the joint Police and Army team trailed the suspects, identified as Ejike Emewa (21) and Njoku Christian Chigbo (21), and successfully apprehended them. The stolen tricycle was recovered, and the suspects will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, psc, mspsp, commended the strong collaboration between the Police and the Army, describing it as instrumental in the swift arrest and recovery. He reiterated the Command’s commitment to ridding Enugu State of criminal elements.
