The duo emerged on Friday during the party’s fourth elective national convention held at Eagle Square, where they were elected alongside several other officials through a consensus arrangement.

The APC Convention Election Committee formally announced their return as part of the list of candidates affirmed by delegates at the convention.

Prior to the exercise, the ruling party had indicated its decision to retain the existing zoning arrangement for positions within the National Working Committee (NWC). The position was reiterated last week, underscoring continuity in the party’s internal power-sharing structure.

In a statement issued ahead of the convention, Felix Morka, National Publicity Secretary of the APC, disclosed that the zoning framework was captured in the party’s published schedule of nationwide congresses, the national convention, and other related activities for 2026.

Morka further explained that the zoning formula guiding the allocation of NWC positions across states within the country’s geopolitical zones remains valid and was duly applied in the conduct of the convention.
