
Hon. Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu, Member representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, on April 10, 2026, joined family members, political associates, and dignitaries to bid farewell to Late Chief Ephraim Chidiebere Maduakasi (Agba-Ego Nkiti), who was laid to rest at his country home in Aguabosi, Ugwuoba, Oji-River Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Hon. Onwuegbu, accompanied by his wife, Barr. Mrs. Stella Onwuegbu, also arrived in the company of his aides and associates.
The delegation included Hon. Boniface Uchendu (SLA on Special Duties), Hon. Chief Sunday Onwuegbu, Ononenyi High Chief Chimaobi Nze (APC Zonal Chairman), High Chief Alexander Nwokeabia (APC Enugu West Chairman), National President UDU Ozo Geff Nwokolo, Mr. Emmanuel Anaekwe, Ozo Josephat Ubah (Ochiagha), Chief Meche Akabueze (Ide Mbaogu), Chief Chiedozie Nchekwube (Ugwumba n’Ugwuoba), High Chief Osita Omah (former PG UDU), Hon. Michael Okaibe, Hon. Onyii Nwafor, Mrs. Grace Nwanah (Chairlady UDU), Hon. Eugene Nnatuanya, Hon. Engr. Okey Nnolu, Hon. Onyeka Madubuchi, Barr. Ugo Nwozor, Hon. Ifeanyi Chukwu (Liaison Officer Awgu), Hon. Bona Udeh, and Mr. Sunny Nwajiagu, among others, all of whom stood in solidarity with the bereaved family throughout the funeral rites.
In his condolence message, the lawmaker described the late Chief Maduakasi as a loyal friend, respected community figure, and a man whose life reflected humility, service, and commitment to the development of his people. He noted that the death of the 47-year-old was a painful loss not only to his immediate family but also to friends, associates, and the wider community.
The burial ceremony attracted a cross-section of society, including government officials, traditional rulers, business leaders, and political stakeholders from across Enugu State, Nigeria, all gathered to pay their final respects.
Late Chief Ephraim Chidiebere Maduakasi is remembered for his community engagement, leadership role, and contributions to local development. He is survived by family members and loved ones who continue to mourn his passing while celebrating a legacy of service and impact.
Following the interment rites, Hon. Onwuegbu made a stopover at the residence of Chief Chimaobi Nze (APC Zonal Chairman) in Efulu, where he briefly engaged with stakeholders. The delegation later proceeded to Agungwu Village, where they visited the compound of Mr. Emma Anaekwe. During the visit, the lawmaker listened to community concerns and assured residents of his commitment to development initiatives, including his promise to facilitate the grading of the Efulu road and to address the developmental needs of Ndi Agungwu.
