CHILDREN’S DAY: SENATOR OSITA NGWU CELEBRATES NIGERIAN CHILDREN, CALLS FOR GREATER INVESTMENT IN THEIR FUTURE

The Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Osita Ngwu, has joined millions of Nigerians and the international community in celebrating children on the occasion of the 2026 Children’s Day celebration, describing them as the “greatest assets and future leaders of the nation.”

Senator Ngwu, who is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Air Force and Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Content, made this known in a goodwill message released to the media on Tuesday.

In the statement, the federal lawmaker emphasized the need for sustained commitment towards the protection, education, moral upbringing, and overall development of children, noting that the progress of any society is directly tied to how well it nurtures its younger generation.

He stated that Children’s Day serves as a solemn reminder of the collective responsibility of government, families, institutions, and stakeholders to create an environment where every child can grow in dignity, safety, confidence, and opportunity.

According to him, children embody hope, creativity, resilience, and immense possibilities that must never be neglected.

“Today, we celebrate the beauty of childhood, the power of dreams, and the limitless potential embedded in every child. Our children are the pride of today and the leaders of tomorrow. As a society, we must remain intentional in providing them with quality education, proper mentorship, security, and opportunities that will enable them to thrive,” Senator Ngwu stated.

The Senator further encouraged children across the country to remain focused on their dreams, uphold good values, and pursue excellence despite prevailing challenges, assuring them that hard work, discipline, and determination remain the pathway to greatness.

He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to supporting policies and initiatives aimed at improving educational infrastructure, youth empowerment, healthcare delivery, and social welfare within Enugu West Senatorial District and beyond.

Senator Ngwu also called on leaders at all levels to prioritize child-centered policies capable of securing a brighter and more prosperous future for Nigerian children.

“As we celebrate this special day, let us recommit ourselves to building a society where every child is protected, inspired, and empowered to succeed. The future belongs to them, and we must collectively ensure that they are prepared for it,” he added.
