
The Police Service Commission (PSC) has officially released the names of successful applicants in the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables into the Nigeria Police Force, marking a significant milestone in the Federal Government’s efforts to strengthen the country’s security architecture.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Commission’s Head of Protocol and Public Relations, Torty Njoku Kalu, the PSC said the recruitment exercise was conducted through a comprehensive, transparent, inclusive and merit-based process in collaboration with key stakeholders, including the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Character Commission, the Ministry of Police Affairs, State Career and Counselling Departments, and the Police Community Relations Committee.
According to the Commission, candidates who participated in the recently concluded written examination can check their recruitment status by visiting the official recruitment portal at npfapplication.psc.gov.ng, which became accessible from 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
The PSC also disclosed that successful applicants will receive notifications through the email addresses and phone numbers they provided during registration.
Successful candidates are expected to report to their designated Police Training Institutions on dates to be communicated later for medical examinations and documentation. The Commission warned that applicants who fail to report within the stipulated period would be deemed to have declined the offer, while those who do not meet the required medical standards will be disqualified from the training programme.
Candidates have also been directed to report with their training call-up slips, National Identification Number (NIN) slips, Bank Verification Number (BVN) slips, original and photocopies of their academic credentials, alongside other documents and items listed on the recruitment portal.
Chairman of the Police Service Commission, retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police Hashimu Salihu Argungu, expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the recruitment of the 50,000 constables, describing the exercise as a major step towards enhancing national security and improving police manpower.
Argungu urged the successful applicants to regard their appointment as a call to patriotic service, charging them to uphold professionalism, integrity and discipline in the discharge of their duties as they join the Nigeria Police Force.
