BREAKING: Enugu Government Announces Massive Recruitment of 6,580 Personnel for Public Schools

In a major move to strengthen the education sector and expand access to quality learning across the state, the Enugu State Government has commenced a large-scale recruitment exercise into the Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB), opening 6,580 vacancies for qualified professionals.

The recruitment, which covers academic, technical, and administrative positions in public primary and junior secondary schools across Enugu State, is part of the government’s sustained drive to improve teaching, digital learning, school administration, and technical support services.

According to the official vacancy advertisement signed by the Executive Chairman of ENSUBEB, Associate Professor Hyginus Okibe Banko, the available positions include 4,698 Teachers (Core Subjects), 520 Digital Librarians, 380 Experiential Learning Innovators, 267 Guidance and Counsellors, 267 ICT Staff, 267 Laboratory Attendants, 136 Account Officers, and 45 Technicians.

The government stated that applicants must possess the relevant academic and professional qualifications required for their respective positions. Candidates applying for teaching roles are expected to have recognised education qualifications and valid registration with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) or evidence of ongoing registration. ICT proficiency is also listed as a mandatory requirement across all cadres.

Interested candidates are required to submit a formal application letter, a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV), copies of academic and professional credentials, a Birth Certificate or Sworn Declaration of Age, and valid contact information.

Applications may be submitted either in hard copy to the Office of the Executive Chairman, Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB), Enugu, or electronically as a single PDF document via ensubebofficial@outlook.com .

The Enugu State Government emphasized that the recruitment exercise is completely free of charge, warning applicants to disregard anyone demanding payment at any stage of the process. It added that only shortlisted candidates will be invited for screening and interview.

The application window closes on Friday, August 14, 2026.

The recruitment exercise is expected to significantly boost manpower in the state’s basic education sector, further reinforcing the administration’s commitment to improving the quality of education and equipping public schools with the human resources needed to deliver modern, technology-driven learning.
