In a sustained effort to bridge the digital divide and prepare young people for the opportunities of the digital age, the Prof. Paul Nnamchi TechHub and Youth Innovation (PPNTAYI) has flagged off the 4th Edition of its Annual ICT Training Programme for secondary school students across Enugu East/Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency.
The annual initiative, championed by the Member representing Enugu East/Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Prof. Paul Sunday Nnamchi, is aimed at equipping students with practical Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills while nurturing innovation, creativity, and digital competence among the younger generation.
The training programme, scheduled to run from August 11 to September 6, 2026, will be held simultaneously at four centres across the constituency to ensure broad participation.
The designated training centres are:
- St. Theresa Parish, Abakpa Nike, Enugu
- St. Theresa Parish, Ugbo-Odogwu
- Our Lady of Holy Rosary, Emene
- Queen of the Rosary, Ugwuagor
Beyond hands-on ICT training, participants will also benefit from bursary awards, scholarships, certificates of participation, gift items, and other incentives designed to encourage academic excellence and reward outstanding performance.
Speaking on the initiative, the organisers described the programme as a strategic investment in the future of young people, noting that digital literacy has become an indispensable skill in today’s technology-driven world.
They emphasized that the annual ICT training is not only about teaching students how to use computers but also about exposing them to emerging technologies, improving their problem-solving abilities, and preparing them to compete confidently in the global digital economy.
Over the years, the programme has impacted hundreds of students across the constituency, providing them with valuable digital skills and creating pathways to academic and career opportunities.
