The exercise, held on August 10, 2026, covered major corridors including Ukwu Aki, Texaco, NOWAS, T-Junction and Nkwo, where traffic violations and road obstructions have continued to affect the free flow of traffic.

Drivers and Keke riders were sensitized on the dangers and penalties associated with driving against traffic, while traders were given a seven-day ultimatum to vacate roadways and obstructed areas.

The Ministry emphasized that the current exercise is focused on sensitization, but strict enforcement and prosecution of offenders will commence after the grace period.
The Honourable Commissioner for Transport Dr.Obi Ozor urged motorists, traders and residents to cooperate with the government in making Abakpa safer and more accessible.
One-way driving is a death trap. Keep to your lane and keep the roads clear.
