The political atmosphere in Enugu North Local Government Area took on a livelier tone on Friday as residents of Ogui Township and Onu Asata received the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign team in a grassroots mobilisation ahead of the September 26, 2027 polls.

The engagement, held on September 18, covered Ogui Township Ward 13 and Onu Asata Ward 4, bringing party leaders, stakeholders and residents together in a show of political solidarity.
Leading the delegation were the APC Chairman in Enugu North LGA, Hon. Ernest Onuoha, and the party’s chairmanship candidate, Dr. Ibenaku Harford Onoh.
The gathering also attracted prominent party figures, including Hon. Echezona Ugwu, Deputy Chairman, Enugu North LGA; Hon. Johnson Ani, member representing Enugu North Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly; Dr. Emeka Aroh, Enugu North SLG; Rt. Hon. Iloabuchi Aniagu, member representing Nkanu West State Constituency; former Chairman of Nkanu West LGA and member of the Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB), Hon. Afam Nnaji; and former Executive Chairmen of Enugu North LGA, Hon. Emeka Onunze, popularly known as Tata, and Hon. Emeka Ede.
Addressing the gatherings, speakers highlighted projects and interventions they attributed to the Onoh administration over the past two years, urging residents to consider the administration’s record as they prepare for the September 26, 2027 polls.
The speakers also broadened their appeal beyond the local government contest, calling on supporters to back President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, Onoh and other APC candidates.
The mobilisation came as the party intensifies its grassroots engagement across Enugu North, taking its message directly to the wards and communities ahead of the polls.
For Onoh, the reception provided an opportunity to speak directly to the electorate whose mandate he is seeking.
He thanked the residents and party supporters for their warm reception and expressed appreciation for what he described as their confidence and encouragement.
The chairmanship candidate appealed for their votes on September 26, assuring the people of his continued commitment to the development of Enugu North and promising to justify the trust placed in him.
The presence of senior political figures, former council chairmen and serving legislators added political weight to the engagement, as the APC’s national, state and local messages converged in the two wards.
From Ogui Township to Onu Asata, the campaign brought the party’s message to the doorstep of the electorate, with speakers seeking support for Tinubu, Mbah, Onoh and other APC candidates.
As the September 26 polls draw closer, the campaign enters its final stretch, with the electorate left to weigh the competing appeals and make their choice at the ballot.
