Anayo Onwuegbu, FNSE, Member representing Awgu/Aninri/Oji River Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign train of Hon. Greg Chijioke Anyaegbudike and his running mate, Barr. Seth Nwokolo, during its tour of Inyi Ward 3, Inyi Ward 4 and Akpugoeze Ward.

The visit, which formed part of the party’s ongoing ward-to-ward mobilisation ahead of the September 26, 2026, local government election, brought together party leaders, community stakeholders and supporters in an atmosphere marked by enthusiastic reception and expressions of political solidarity.

For Hon. Onwuegbu, the campaign engagement was also an opportunity to reconnect with the people of Inyi and Akpugoeze, particularly the latter, which he identifies as his maternal home. His arrival at the campaign grounds was greeted with a rousing ovation, marking his first appearance with the Greg/Seth campaign train since the commencement of the ward tours.

Addressing the gathering, the federal lawmaker spoke of his connection to the people and appealed for continued support for the administration of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and the APC candidates in the forthcoming election.

“I am your son. I am here today not as a visitor but as your own blood,” he said.

His message was anchored on the need for continuity, political cooperation and sustained engagement between elected representatives and the communities they serve. He urged the people not to abandon what he described as an opportunity to consolidate on the existing political structure and advance development across Enugu State.

Hon. Onwuegbu commended Governor Mbah’s administration, drawing attention to initiatives in education, healthcare, road infrastructure and youth employment. He expressed confidence that the continued implementation of the state government’s development agenda would create further opportunities for communities across the state.

“The government of His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has shown that governance can work when there is vision,” he said, while referencing the Smart Green Schools initiative, Type 2 Health Centres and ongoing road development efforts.
The lawmaker also appealed to the people of Inyi and Akpugoeze to support the APC chairmanship candidate, Hon. Greg Chijioke Anyaegbudike, and his running mate, Barr. Seth Nwokolo, alongside other party candidates.
“I want to plead with you, let us not throw away this great opportunity. Let us consolidate on this structure for a new Enugu of our dreams,” he said.
He urged eligible voters to turn out on September 26 and participate in the local government election, calling for support for APC candidates from the chairmanship to the councillorship positions.
The appeal drew enthusiastic reactions from sections of the crowd, with some women expressing support for the party and its candidates.
The APC campaign train’s visit to Inyi Ward 3, Inyi Ward 4 and Akpugoeze Ward was part of a broader effort to engage communities across Oji River ahead of the local government election.

The gatherings brought together women groups, youth leaders, artisans, market women, farmers and other community members, with songs, dancing and solidarity expressions forming part of the activities.
In his address, the APC chairmanship candidate and incumbent Executive Chairman of Oji River LGA, Hon. Greg Chijioke Anyaegbudike, thanked the people for their turnout and confidence in his administration.
He highlighted activities in education, healthcare, road infrastructure, youth empowerment and security, while expressing his commitment to aligning local government development with the broader vision of the Mbah administration.
