Dr. Ibenaku Harford Onoh of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared winner of the Enugu North Local Government Area chairmanship election, securing a second term in office.

Onoh was declared winner by the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) Returning Officer, Dr. Chike Udeze, at the Enugu North Local Government Secretariat following the conclusion of the election.
According to the results announced by the Returning Officer, Onoh polled 77,365 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Mr. Nzekwe Emmanuel of the Allied Peoples Party (APP).
The announcement triggered jubilation at the council secretariat, as APC supporters, party faithful, well-wishers and other supporters erupted in cheers following the formal declaration of the result.
Speaking shortly after his declaration, Onoh expressed appreciation to the people of Enugu North and his supporters for the confidence reposed in him, describing the outcome as a victory for the people.
He also thanked residents, party leaders, stakeholders and supporters for their contributions to the electoral process and for supporting his campaign.
The victory gives Onoh another term as Chairman of Enugu North Local Government Area and an opportunity to consolidate the programmes and projects initiated during his first tenure while pursuing additional development initiatives across the council area.
His re-election is expected to bring renewed attention to the consolidation of ongoing projects, improved service delivery and further development across Enugu North LGA.
