
The transformative representative, Hon. Professor Paul Sunday Nnamchi, has commenced an extensive face-lift of the communities in Enugu East/Isi Uzo Federal Constituency of Enugu State with the massive deployment of solar-powered street lights.

The project, which started in September, has already covered over 20 communities in Enugu East Local Government Area. Some of the areas that have benefited from the installation include Nkpologu, Mainland Street, Bank Street in Emene, Roads 12, 18, 7, 8, 11, and 10 in Trans Ekulu.


Other areas covered in the first phase of the project include Ogbowere, Akpugo Street, Ugboye, Abakpa, Ugboezeji market, Ezeji close, Silas Street, Uzo Ava street, Mission Road, Ugbodogwu, and FAAN Quarters. Additionally, St Theresa’s Catholic Church, Otti Ernest street, Osita Ikekpeazu Close, and Ugbenyi in Trans Ekulu have also been illuminated.

In Nike, the following areas have been covered: Akpuoga Nike, Amorji Nike, Ugwogo Nike, Mbosi Street, Ogwuagor 2, and Ward 17. The Isi Uzo phase of the project has begun, with Ehamufu Township, Aguamede, and Mgbuji already benefiting.

Reacting to the development, the Youth Secretary of Umunameze Community in Ugwogo-Nike, Comrade Nelson Onah, expressed excitement, saying, “Prof. Nnamchi has awakened our world and banished the darkness that comes with the night. He has beautified Ugwogo-Nike.”

Another indigene of Obinagu Community, Ugwogo-Nike, Mr. Osita Eze, thanked Hon. Prof. Nnamchi for remembering his community and prayed that God continues to empower him to do more.

At Ogwuagor Abakpa 2 Ward 17, during the installation of the street lights, the people were overwhelmed, expressing gratitude to Prof. Nnamchi. “From our hearts, we say thank you so much, our honorable Professor Nnamchi,” they chorused

A passer-by from Neke Uno community, Mbulu-Iyiukwu, Mr. Ngwu Paschal, marvelled at the beauty the street lights have brought to Ugwogo-Nike. He commended Prof. Nnamchi for his spirit of inclusivity, demonstrating his commitment to community development.
