
A high-ranking official of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) has found himself at the center of a controversy surrounding his alleged refusal to vacate office after exceeding his statutory retirement age.

However, in a surprising turn of events, Jada’s retirement date was revised to December 2024, with his birthdate altered from December 1963 to December 1964.
Sources within the NCS have expressed concerns over Jada’s continued presence in office, citing a lack of progress and unaddressed issues within the command. Despite exceeding his revised retirement date, Jada remains in office, refusing to hand over to another person.
According to the NCS rulebook, officers are required to proceed on pre-retirement leave three months prior to their retirement date. However, Jada’s continued presence in office has raised questions about the integrity of the NCS’s retirement process.
