
The Honourable Member representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji-River Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Lake Chad, Hon. Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu, has joined in celebrating the Silver Jubilee of the Priestly Ordination of Prof. Christian Anieke, Vice Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, and his classmates from the Class of 2000.

Speaking during the grand celebration held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Udi, Hon. Onwuegbu congratulated Prof. Anieke, Bishop Ernest Obodo, and their fellow priests for their 25 years of steadfast commitment to the priesthood. He described the milestone as not merely a passage of time, but a symbol of devotion, spiritual leadership, and sacrificial service.


“This Jubilee is more than a celebration of years,” Hon. Onwuegbu remarked. “It is a powerful testament to the enduring faith, humility, and impact of these great men of God, especially Prof. Anieke, whose work in education and spiritual development has uplifted countless lives.”


The federal lawmaker, speaking on behalf of the good people of Aninri, Awgu, and Oji-River, Commended Prof. Anieke for his visionary leadership and tireless efforts to fight poverty through academic empowerment, describing him as a rare blend of intellect, humility, and spiritual depth.


“As we mark this remarkable occasion,” he added, “we pray for God’s continued grace, strength, and guidance upon Prof. Anieke, Bishop Obodo, and all members of the Class of 2000. May their journey of service continue to inspire and bless generations.”
