In a significant development for Enugu State and the South East region, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has signed into law the bill establishing the Federal University of Agriculture, Ako-Nike. Hon. Prof. Paul Sunday Nnamchi, the member representing Enugu East and Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has expressed profound gratitude to the President for this milestone achievement.

In an official statement released in Abuja, Prof. Nnamchi hailed the presidential assent as a “transformative milestone” not only for his constituency but also for the South East region and Nigeria as a whole. He described the university as a potential catalyst for development, serving as a center for agricultural innovation, rural empowerment, and academic excellence.

“The establishment of this university will pave the way for critical gains in food security, job creation, and national development,” Prof. Nnamchi stated. “President Tinubu’s assent reflects visionary leadership and a firm commitment to inclusive governance. It affirms that under the Renewed Hope Agenda, even historically overlooked communities are now being given strategic opportunities to thrive.”

Prof. Nnamchi conveyed the appreciation of the people of Ako-Nike and the entire Enugu East/Isi-Uzo constituency, describing the development as a symbol of hope and renewed faith in the Nigerian project. He also thanked the National Assembly and other key stakeholders who contributed to the passage of the bill and the realization of what he called “a shared dream.”

“Ako-Nike is now more than a place of fertile soil; it is a growing hub of knowledge, hope, and national purpose,” he added.
