The annual gathering, which brings together women from the community and the diaspora, drew spiritual leaders, traditional authorities, and community advocates in a vibrant celebration of unity, thanksgiving, and the pivotal role women play in socio-economic development across Awgu LGA.

Welcoming the chairman, the President-General of the Agbogugu Women’s Association, Mrs. Chukwuonu Esther Uchenna, appealed for support to complete the association’s long-standing conference hall and expand the Help the Poor Women Empowerment Program, a vital initiative supporting widows, orphans, and low-income families across the local government area.

Deeply moved by their vision, Hon. Okolo pledged a ₦1 million donation to the program and committed to the swift completion of the conference hall. He assured the women that the hall would become a vibrant hub for fellowship, mentorship, and community development, benefiting women from all communities in Awgu LGA.
“Where women are empowered, families flourish, and when families flourish, communities rise,” Hon. Okolo declared. “This is not just a donation, it is a covenant with our mothers, sisters, and daughters across Awgu LGA. A covenant of support, love, and shared destiny.”

The atmosphere reached a peak with songs of thanksgiving and jubilant ululations. In her heartfelt vote of thanks, Mrs. Francis Okorie, President of the Catholic Women Organization (CWO) of St. James Parish, prayed for Hon. Okolo and pledged the association’s continued support for his administration.

The visit went beyond routine political duty, reflecting a leadership style grounded in empathy, responsiveness, and practical action, one that builds not only infrastructure but also trust, unity, and a lasting legacy of hope for generations of women across the local government.

Aligned with this commitment, Hon. Okolo reaffirmed his administration’s support for the transformative, people-centered leadership of Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, emphasizing their shared dedication to inclusive governance, social equity, and community-driven growth.
