Tochukwu Chukwu, hailed the official rollout of the Smart Green Schools across the state as “a historic milestone and a covenant fulfilled,” saying it demonstrates that Governor Mbah’s “Tomorrow is Here” agenda is no longer a slogan but a visible reality for children across Enugu.
The council boss highlighted the unique features of the new learning centres, which are fitted with ICT hubs, robotics and artificial intelligence laboratories, e-libraries, smart farms, renewable energy sources, and modern medical facilities.
“These are not just classrooms; they are incubators of innovation where Enugu’s children are equipped to compete and excel in a global economy,” Okolo said.
He also applauded the statewide school lunch initiative, describing it as a strategic effort to fight hunger, increase school enrolment, and improve academic performance.
“By providing free uniforms, textbooks, digital tablets, and now nutritious meals, Governor Mbah has elevated education standards and rekindled the hope of Ndi Enugu. This is governance defined by vision, compassion, and measurable impact,” he stated.
Okolo acknowledged that the transition to a technology-driven education model presents challenges but commended the governor’s resolve to confront them, calling it proof of “true statesmanship.” He urged residents of Awgu and Enugu at large to safeguard the new facilities and support teachers who, he noted, are the custodians of the state’s future.
“With the Smart Green Schools, Enugu is not waiting for tomorrow; the future is already taking shape. Governor Mbah has etched his name boldly in the book of history, and Ndi Enugu are the ultimate beneficiaries,” the chairman declared.
