As the dawn of a new month unfolds, the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, has conveyed a heartfelt message of hope and unity to the people of Awgu, encouraging them to remain steadfast in their collective pursuit of peace and progress.

Tochukwu Chukwu, the council boss appreciated Ndi Awgu for their continued cooperation and trust in his administration. He urged them to carry the spirit of optimism and community development into the new month, assuring them of more impactful projects across all communities.
Hon. Okolo praised the leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, Governor of Enugu State, describing him as “a visionary leader whose bold reforms and infrastructural transformation have redefined governance in Enugu State.”
According to him, Governor Mbah’s inclusive governance style and commitment to grassroots transformation have set a new benchmark for local councils in the state. The chairman particularly highlighted the Governor’s unprecedented engagement with local governments, noting that such collaboration has inspired Awgu to achieve record developmental milestones.
He further recalled the Governor’s two-day project commissioning and inspection tour of Awgu Local Government Area, held on October 7 and 8, 2025, during which over 50 completed and ongoing projects were unveiled. Represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government, Rural Development, and Chieftaincy Matters, Deacon Okey Ogbodo, the Governor’s visit, Hon. Okolo noted, was a clear endorsement of the administration’s performance and a testament to the government’s commitment to functional grassroots development.
Reaffirming his dedication to service, Hon. Okolo promised to deepen the local government’s partnership with the state government to accelerate Awgu’s transformation. He assured residents that his administration remains focused on delivering sustainable development, improved infrastructure, and inclusive governance.
“Our duty is to sustain the progress we have started, strengthen our partnership with the state government, and ensure that every community in Awgu feels the touch of development,” Hon. Okolo said.
“With Governor Mbah’s guidance and Ndi Awgu’s continued support, we will keep building a prosperous future together.”
