The member, representing the good people of Enugu East/Isi Uzo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Chairman, Nigerian-Irish Legislative Friendship Committee and Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Southeast Development Commission, (SEDEC), Hon Professor Paul Sunday Nnamchi, the Oduko N’ Mba one of Ikem Uno Kingdom is an accomplished academic turned democrat who has risen above his traducers to redefine representative politics in the 10th Assembly.

A pioneer Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering in University of Nigeria Nsukka, (UNN), Hon. Professor Nnamchi did not leave his constituents in doubt when he entered the race in 2023 to represent Enugu East and Isi Uzo in Green Chambers of the National Assembly. With the mantra, “Let’s Do It Better” it was obvious that he had a different agenda from what was then regarded as the norm. Today he is recognized as a beacon of hope to the people of Enugu East/Isi Uzo Federal Constituency.

The lawmaker who has scholarly transversed high profile Ivory Towers in various countries in Europe before returning to his father land to lecture at the University of Nigeria Nsukka, (UNN) has exhibited leadership that reflects courage, vision, and uncommon commitment to public service.

His unwavering dedication to nation-building and proven record of performance demonstrate a deep sense of responsibility to his constituents. Through sustainable development initiatives, youth empowerment programmes, and support for indigent constituents, Professor Nnamchi has consistently shown compassionate and people-centered representation. Leaders of this calibre are rare in the 21st century, and Enugu East/Isi Uzo people are proud to have him at this time.

His annual computer training for secondary students which predates his entry into politics, scholarship awards to indigent students across the constituency further underscore his commitment to grassroots development and investment in the future generation of leaders.

Professor Nnamchi has championed and delivered impactful projects, including construction and renovation of classroom blocks for primary and secondary schools, installation of solar-powered streetlights, annual medical outreach programmes and provision of transformers in communities across the constituency. These achievements have rightly positioned him as man of the people.

Despite being a first-time entrant in the legislature, he has demonstrated extraordinary wisdom, integrity, and competence. Within just two years in office, he has delivered measurable results as a silent achiever whose works speak louder than words. He sponsored fifty-three, (53) Bills and several impactful motions. The turning point is the Bill for the establishment of Federal University of Agriculture Ako- Nike, (FUAA) Enugu, State.

As we approach the next election circle come 2027, the direction is clear. Professor Nnamchi’s performance is speaking very loud. The chorus is same both in the East and Isi Uzo- “One Good Turn Deserves Another.” This was demonstrated by the people of Ikem Uno Kingdom on the 3rd of January when they Crowned him “Oduko N’ Mba” symbolize that his kind is very rare in the land.
The people of Ako-Nike had earlier honoured with the prestigious, “Enyi One Na Nike” which means the first elephant in Bike just to demonstrate the height of the work he has done so far as a legislator.
