Prophet Iloanya, whose ministry is located at 46 Ezeani Street, New Haven, serves as the Neighborhood Watch Security Chairman of Ubena Neighborhood Watch, New Haven. He also holds the position of Deputy State Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Enugu State.
The cleric’s efforts came to public attention on Monday when he was sighted personally supervising the installation of solar-powered streetlights and mounting CCTV cameras within the neighborhood. Initially mistaken for a contractor or technician, further inquiries revealed that he was, in fact, the driving force behind the entire initiative.
Investigations show that Prophet Iloanya has single-handedly funded and installed 30 solar-powered streetlights across six streets in New Haven. The affected areas include Ezeani Street, Udenweze Street, Bassey Duke Street, Azia Street, Ezeagu Street, and Ezeani Close. In addition, he has procured four solar-powered CCTV cameras, currently being mounted at strategic points within the community to enhance surveillance and deter criminal activities.
Residents describe the intervention as timely and impactful, especially in light of the prevailing economic challenges facing the nation. The project, financed entirely from his personal resources, underscores what many have described as “Christianity in practice” a commitment to service beyond the pulpit.
Observers note that Prophet Iloanya’s efforts are devoid of political undertones, driven instead by a passion for community development and public safety. His background in neighborhood security leadership further reflects his long-standing commitment to grassroots engagement and crime prevention.
As communities across the country grapple with infrastructure deficits and security concerns, the New Haven initiative stands as a model of how faith leaders can play a transformative role in local development.
For many residents, Prophet Ken Iloanya’s actions go beyond religious obligation, they represent a practical embodiment of service, responsibility, and leadership at the community level.
