A devout Christian, Mrs. Elizabeth was a faithful member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. She attended services regularly, participating in the women’s missionary society and demonstrating unwavering commitment to her faith. Her devotion to her church and community was evident in her generosity and kindness, which became a benchmark in the church community.
Mrs. Elizabeth’s family remembered her as a loving and selfless mother, who always put the needs of others before her own. Her children, now successful in their endeavors, credit her guidance and support for their achievements.
In a tribute to her mother, Mrs. Mercy Dundun Mafuru, who is based in New York, said, “Nothing in this world can compare to the love and light you brought into my life. Pure and genuine, selfless, caring, forgiving, wise, gentle and tough. I am who I am today because of you.”
Ovie Etadaferua, one of her sons, described his mother as a woman with a clean heart towards anyone who came across her during her lifetime.
Mrs. Elizabeth’s legacy of love, selflessness and devotion will continue to inspire her family and community. She was interned on November 15, 2024, in her hometown of Jesse, surrounded by loved ones.
