According to reports, Dr. Onoh received the award on Thursday in Enugu, during the high-level colloquium organised by the renowned law firm with the theme “Support Mechanisms for Infrastructure Development and Financing.”

Presenting the award to the Enugu North Council Chairman, who served as one of the key panelists at the event, Justice Nwobodo of the Enugu High Court commended Dr. Onoh for bringing a grassroots governance perspective to the conversation and enriching the discourse with practical insights from the local government level.

She stated that the honour reflects Dr. Onoh’s constructive participation and thoughtful contributions during the session, adding that such engagement is vital in bridging the gap between national policy conversations and real community needs.

Receiving the award, Dr. Onoh expressed gratitude to kenna partners for the award and also thanked Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for supporting LGA’s in Enugu State in the finance of key infrastructural projects particularly in the health and education sectors, as well as in the provision of road infrastructure to communities.

He posited that the platform provided by the colloquium was an eye-opener for leaders at all levels to critically examine and realign development strategies, especially in infrastructure and service delivery.

“Local governments are closest to the people, and when given the right tools and support, we can turn around the fortunes of our neighborhoods in record time,” he stated.

However, the maiden Kenna Infrastructure Dialogue featured thought-provoking discussions from high-level stakeholders including Professor Fabian Ajogwu, SAN, Founder and Senior Partner at Kenna Partners, who delivered the keynote address on legal frameworks and innovative financing options, and panelists like Mrs. Uzoamaka Okeji, Chiaka Mbagwu, and Kenna’s Senior Partners, Okechukwu Ekweanya and Nimma Jo-Madugu.

The dialogue also explored how public-private partnerships, blended finance, and subnational participation can reshape Nigeria’s infrastructure landscape.

Other dignitaries in attendance included the Deputy Governor of Enugu State, Hon. Ifeanyi Ossai; the Chief Judge of Enugu State, Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Nathaniel E. Urama; Barrister G.C. Nnamani; and former Deputy Governor, Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo, all of whom lent their voices to the urgent call for collaborative action in addressing the country’s vast infrastructure needs.
