🎓 A REVOLUTION IN EDUCATION

Hon. Onwuegbu believes that education is the most powerful tool for social mobility, and he’s putting that belief into action through wide-reaching and unprecedented programs.

✅ Highlights of His Educational Interventions:

Over 100 fully-funded undergraduate scholarships across universities and polytechnics in Nigeria.

220 scholarships for NCE and PGDE programs awarded to both young graduates and undergraduates.

About 25 Master’s degree scholarships fully sponsored for high-achieving scholars seeking to break new grounds.

These initiatives have revived ambition in the youth, inspired hope in families, and nurtured a culture of excellence across the constituency. To many, education has moved from being a privilege for the wealthy to a real possibility for the willing.

📚 PARTNERSHIPS TO END ILLITERACY

In February 2024, Hon. Onwuegbu expanded his educational mission by partnering with the National Teachers’ Institute (NTI) and NABTEB to combat rural illiteracy across the 41 wards of Aninri/Awgu/Oji River.

🔹 Key Actions:

240 NTI admission forms purchased for NCE, Pre-NCE, B.Ed., and PGDE applicants.

300 NTI scholarships and 300 NABTEB full sponsorships for rural learners.

Establishment of study centers in rural communities for better access to quality education.

In recognition of his impact, the NTI Centre at Akpugoeze was officially renamed the “Hon. Anayo Onwuegbu Study Centre”—a rare honor bestowed for extraordinary support to public education.

💡 LEADERSHIP BEYOND CLASSROOMS: EMPOWERING THROUGH POLICY

On October 23, 2024, Hon. Onwuegbu moved a motion on the floor of the House of Representatives seeking urgent federal intervention for flood-affected communities in Mpu and Okpanku (Aninri LGA), caused by the incomplete Ivo Earth Dam project.

This motion was not mere paperwork — it triggered swift federal action through NEMA, demonstrating legislative effectiveness rooted in compassion.

🤝 FLOOD RELIEF FOR VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES

On March 28, 2025, in collaboration with NEMA, Hon. Onwuegbu oversaw the distribution of relief materials to flood victims in Mpu and Okpanku. Items included:

Bags of rice (25kg)

Cartons of spaghetti, vegetable oil, seasoning cubes, tomato paste

Guinea brocade and women’s clothing

True to his nickname “Omeiheukwu”, Hon. Onwuegbu has also launched key infrastructure works, such as the Uhuegu–Olikwu Road Construction Project in Awgu Egbeleli, aimed at connecting remote communities to economic centers.

This is a man investing not just in people’s minds, but also in their mobility and access to opportunity.
