The Executive Chairman of Enugu North Local Government Area has taken a bold step to boost the fast-rising hospitality and tourism sector in the state with the launch of a new training programme for residents.

At a ceremony held at the Enugu North LGA Council Headquarters, the council signed a partnership agreement with Lantana College of Hospitality to train and empower dozens of indigenes in hospitality management, culinary skills, and service excellence.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the institution by Mrs. Kate Okoro, Head of School, Lantana College of Hospitality. Upon completion of the programme, participants will be strategically deployed into various segments of the hospitality and tourism industry across Enugu.

Speaking at the event, the Council Chairman reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to human capital development, noting that the initiative will not only equip residents with valuable skills but also strengthen the council’s position as an emerging hub for hospitality and economic growth.

The programme aligns with the vision of the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, whose administration has consistently championed innovation, capacity building, and job creation as drivers of sustainable development.
